Oso Closo reunion show!

We’re very pleased to announce a special show happening on Friday March 23 in Dallas. We will be playing at a brand new studio/venue in Deep Ellum called Central Tracks with our friends Rademacher from California, and we will also be having an Oso Closo reunion show! For those of you who have not been FD fans long enough to know, Oso Closo was the impassioned, bombastic, face-melting band that Danny and I used to be in along with Adrian Hulet, Andy Rogers, and Ryan Jacobi. It’s going to be a glorious occasion (assuming we all practice the songs a lot), and probably cathartic for many. Some people might be healed. Just saying.

Central Tracks is located at 2815 Main St., and it’s such a great new venue for Dallas. It’s right in Deep Ellum, and it’s beautiful. Also it’s owned and operated by our friend and longtime supporter Geoff Lloyd. Stay tuned for more details!

New SXSW Shows!

Hey, just a quick post to let everyone know we have three more SXSW-time shows, and another post-SXSW show. And a some of them are with a really really great band from California, Rademacher. Here’s all our shows coming up:

AUSTIN – Tues 3/13 – RedGorilla Fest @ Thirsty Nickel 8:30 PM

AUSTIN – Wed 3/14 – RedGorilla Fest @ Touche 10:00 PM

AUSTIN – Sun 3/15 – Unofficial SXSW showcase @ Kick Butt Coffee (Airport Blvd) w/ Rademacher (Rad at 7, us at 8) and a bunch of really good bands also

TULSA, OK – Sat 3/24 – Post SXSW fun time @ Crystal Pistol w/ Rademacher

Did I mention all four SXSW-time shows are FREE and non-wristband-requiring?! Yup! (Go to the 512 event page to RSVP and get in free to the 3/11 show.)

Also we’re working on a Dallas area show after SXSW, so we’ll keep you updated on that.

RedGorilla 2012!

We’ve just confirmed our first SXSW show for 2012! And this will be the first time we’re playing the RedGorilla Festival, which we’ve been wanting to be a part of for a long time now. If you don’t know about The RedGorilla Festival, you should. It’s a really great music fest that happens at the same time as SXSW in Austin, except you don’t need any wristbands and every show is totally FREE!

We don’t have too many details yet other than the fact that it’s FREE and at the Thirsty Nickel and at 8:30 PM, but we’ll know more soon. Also stay tuned for more SXSW-ish shows to be announced shortly!

This is from our tour up to NYC and back last Fall. Our final night in Philly we crawled up to the roof of Cade & co.’s home and made this video. If you notice things not lining up it’s because we only had one camera and therefore had to film it twice in order to get close ups. And some of our licks were different the second time.
